The 35 trend-forward Formica® Brand Laminates launched today, introduced in the Lookbook, are grouped into three palettes—Unfiltered, Saturate and Raw—that share a common connection to nature and minimalism.

SurfaceSet™ 2016 was inspired by life, purity and authenticity: nature, in all its greatness. The 35 new product offerings are the result of months of design and style research conducted by Formica Group International’s design team. Drawing on social, economic and design trends for inspiration, its range of finishes, colours, patterns and materials was created to make spaces more aesthetically and functionally enjoyable, from retail stores to acute care centres.

Unfiltered: Less is more
It’s all about being pared back and stripped down. This laminate collection gets to the heart of things. Imagine a hotel lobby in Weathered Beamwood (6410-NG), the counters of a laboratory in Fox (1994-90), or Chalked Knotty Ash (6437-58) for your restaurant tables
Saturate: Add some electricity
The natural movement is not an excuse to be boring. A fresh look down retro lane gives rise to unexpected colours and textures. None other than the great Jonathan Adler helped create some of the signature colours for this palette for our commercial collection. Treat yourself with Storm Hex (6474-58) cocktail tables, Navy Splatter (8167-58) for your front desk, or even Geo White (5270-90) for a warmer reception in your healthcare centre.
Raw: Get grounded in what’s real
Authentic and sophisticated in its smallest details, this palette takes a cue from nature to ground us in what’s real. Choose Natural Walnut (6401-43) for the counters of your library, Eggplant (1517-90) for the office coffee bar, or give into the temptation of Salvage Planked Elm (9480-58) for your hip bar’s high tables.
