Durham, N.C., July 26, 2022 - Spoonflower, a global eCommerce and print-on-demand leader with a Marketplace featuring designs made available on wallpaper, home decor and fabric is relaunching its better-than-ever Peel and Stick wallpaper substrate. The product release is in response to the 30% of new customers who are choosing Spoonflower wallpaper as a first-time purchase on Spoonflower.com.

Spoonflower’s new Peel and Stick wallpaper is sourced and manufactured in the U.S. and is a paper-based product rather than a woven polyester textile. The paper has a linen-like texture with a strong adhesive backing, is tear-resistant and does not fray, making it great for small DIY projects. Peel and Stick wallpaper is easily removable and is repositionable during installation.

"The relaunch of our incredibly successful Peel and Stick wallpaper is a landmark accomplishment for Spoonflower,” said General Manager, Michael Jones. “The Spoonflower community tells us what they want, and we listen. Our Artists, Maker and consumers asked for shorter print times and faster ship times, and we rose to the challenge by delivering a 50% decrease in wallpaper’s order-to-shipment processing times. Early testing of our new Peel and Stick substrate — which, in addition to its installation on walls, included myriad use cases such as bookshelves, stair risers, fireplace surrounds and furniture — yielded excellent feedback, and an overwhelming consensus that Spoonflower’s Peel and Stick wallpaper is shifting from being a nice-to-have to a highly desired product category in the home space.”

Peel and Stick wallpaper has become a staple in the creative economy, particularly among DIY enthusiasts. Research on the DIY Home Improvement Retailing Market Report states the global DIY home improvement retailing market is anticipated to rise at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.37%, which would yield revenue of $1,278.0B by 2030 (SOURCE: Research Dive).

The strength of Spoonflower’s design Marketplace — which features nearly 2 million unique designs curated by 3.3 million creatives who upload 4,000 new designs on average every day — coupled with consumer behavior that, despite uncertain economic times, indicates people are prioritizing creating spaces that reflect their unique styles and is resulting in Spoonflower establishing its footprint as an authority in the wallpaper category.

The launch is supported by Spoonflower.com Peel and Stick wallpaper’s Q2 search impressions increasing by 190% YoY, its clicks increasing by 152% YoY. Spoonflower is being recognized as a premier wallpaper destination, and overall traffic (sessions) to wallpaper-related pages on Spoonflower.com has grown over 55% YoY (Jan – June 2022).

Several Spoonflower high-engagement Influencers and Spoonflower Ambassadors — whose collective social media reach is greater than 1.5M — are partnering with the brand’s Peel and Stick relaunch in a two-tiered Influencer Marketing strategy extending from launch day through October. Also, the new Peel and Stick wallpaper will be featured in projects shown on season 8 of the HGTV show “Good Bones,” with Mina Starsiak-Hawk and on season 4 of the HGTV show “Unsellable Houses” with identical twin sister duo Lyndsay Lamb and Leslie Davis, who also own the successful showroom, Lamb & Co, which will be featured on a colorful display of Spoonflower Independent Artists’ designs on all four of Spoonflower’s wallpaper substrates.

Spoonflower tested its new Peel and Stick wallpaper with select customers who confirmed the company’s better-than-ever claim.

“Spoonflower wallpaper is easy to use. The heavy texture and the easy-to-remove backing made this project easy to cut, trim and apply to the project. I think the hardest part about this project was selecting a design…it was so hard, that I selected two designs.”

“This new peel and stick wallpaper is so amazing to work with! Not only does it allow for smoother placement and repositioning, but it feels amazing to the touch.”

“The wallpaper is beginner friendly, very easy to apply & remove and malleable. My first-time using Peel & Stick Wallpaper was a success. I’m no longer intimidated!”

“It’s the best peel and stick wallpaper I’ve ever used!”

In addition to its new formaldehyde-, phthalate-, and PVC-free Peel and Stick wallpaper — which features Eco-friendly inks, and is available in 24-inch wide panels in 1-foot, 3-feet, 9-feet and 12-feet lengths — Spoonflower offers wallpaper in three other substrates: Prepasted Removable Smooth, Non-Pasted Traditional Pebble and Grasscloth.

“Spoonflower’s Research & Development team is extraordinarily pleased with the nearly year-long, thoughtful, customer-focused conception and rigorous testing process that led to this exciting launch day,” said Kerry King, Spoonflower Sr. Director, Process Innovation for Textiles & Wallpaper. “We are excited to see how this new substrate performs, and we’re confident it’s a perfect fit for everyone from first-time Peel and Stick DIYers to seasoned Interior Designers.”
